RTUs monitor city water pressure for pressure spikes, storing 5 minutes of 100mS data for pre- and post- spike analysis. Half of the RTUs use dial-up phone lines and are polled by a Transdyn Controls’ DYNAC™ master and report-by-exception to the DYNAC™ when alarm limits are exceeded. Direct-wired RTUs are also polled by the DYNAC™ system. The entire system uses Modbus RTU protocol.
